Terms and Conditions

These terms apply when you register for Mwanga Festival & Marathon (MWAFEM) or use this website. By registering yourself or someone else, you accept them. Please read them carefully.

1The event

Mwanga Festival & Marathon takes place on 20 December 2026 at C.D. Msuya Stadium, Mwanga, and is organised by Kisangara Tours Ltd. The races, start times and routes are described on this website.

2Registration

  • Give true and complete information. One registration is for one person.
  • Registration closes on 10 December 2026, or earlier if a race is full.
  • Your place is confirmed only after our team has checked and confirmed your payment.
  • Keep your registration ID: you need it as the payment reference and to collect your race kit.
  • We may refuse or cancel a registration with false information.

3Entry fees and payment

  • The fee depends on the participant type (adult, running club member, student, child or elder) and is shown before you register.
  • Participants from outside East Africa and SADC pay USD 30; children and elders always pay the Tanzanian rate.
  • Club members and students must show a club card or student ID at kit collection; otherwise the adult fee applies.
  • Pay by mobile money or bank transfer and use your registration ID as the reference.

4Refunds and transfers

Entry fees are not refundable and a registration cannot be transferred to another person. If the organisers cancel the event, we will contact every registered participant to explain the options.

5Children and young people

Participants under 18 must be registered by a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms for them. Children aged 10 and under take part in the children’s categories and must be accompanied by an adult on race day.

6Health and safety

  • You take part at your own risk and confirm that you are fit enough for the race you chose. If in doubt, ask a doctor first.
  • Follow the instructions of marshals, medical staff and the police. They may stop you if they think it is unsafe for you to continue.
  • Tell us about any medical condition that the medical team should know about.
  • The organisers are not responsible for lost or damaged personal belongings, or for injury or illness, except where the law says otherwise.

7On race day

  • Wear your race number (bib) on the front, where it can be seen.
  • Follow the marked route and respect the cut-off times announced by the organisers.
  • Respect other participants, the community, wildlife and the environment — use the bins provided.

8Race kit

Collect your kit at the collection point you chose, with your registration ID and an identity document. T-shirt sizes are reserved in the order of registration and confirmed payment, while stocks last.

9Changes and cancellation

The organisers may change the date, programme, routes or races because of weather, safety or instructions from the authorities. We will announce changes on this website and, where possible, contact registered participants by phone or email.

10Photos and video

By taking part you agree that photos and videos of the event, which may show you, can be used to report on and promote MWAFEM. See the Privacy Policy for how to ask us to remove a picture.

11Your information

We use your information as explained in our Privacy Policy.

12Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
