AboutOur Festival
Welcome to the Mwanga Festival and Marathon
A vibrant celebration of our beautiful district nestled within the heart of the Kilimanjaro region. This unique event is more than just a race; it's a testament to our community's spirit and a showcase of Mwanga's hidden gems.
Born from a desire to share the rich culture and stunning landscapes of our home, the festival and marathon aim to boost internal tourism, inviting Tanzanians from across the nation to experience the warmth and wonder of Mwanga.

The event is proudly organized by Kisangara Tours Ltd, a Tanzania-based tour operator, in collaboration with Mberesero Group, Osaka Royal Classic, Mwanga District Office, and Mwanga Community members, fostering a sense of unity and pride.
Our Invitation

The event is proudly organized by Kisangara Tours Ltd, a Tanzania-based tour operator, in collaboration with Mberesero Group, Osaka Royal Classic, Mwanga District Office, and Mwanga Community members.
- Purpose:
More than a race: Mwanga Marathon uses sport to bring tourism, culture, conservation, education and community development together, so people discover Tanzania's attractions and learn how tourism can benefit their community.
- Distinction:
This event is distinct from the well-known Kilimanjaro Marathon in Mwanga District. The Mwanga Festival and Marathon is a separate, localized event.
OurPurpose
To use sport and entertainment to reach more Tanzanians and visitors, building awareness of the value of Tanzanian tourism, protecting the environment and cultural heritage, and opening up tourism jobs and business for the people of Mwanga.
That everyone who comes to Mwanga for the marathon finds reasons to stay longer — to visit its attractions, learn its culture and do business with the community — and that the festival grows into a fixture of Tanzania's tourism, sports and culture calendar.
